How can funding facilitate a more attractive market for pop and rock and related genres in the Nordic Region? How can artists, venues and festivals contribute?

We would like to discuss the conditions of the Nordic market as it is today, and how we can generate a long term difference. The seminar will be a mix of position statements from key players within the field and an open debate with the audience.

Eline Wernberg Sigfusson

Senior advisor, Nordic Culture Fund (DK)

Eline is senior advisor at the Nordic Culture Fund. She is responsible for the development of the music field in the fund and communication manager. In addition, she handles application within the area of music and film. Eline has previously been a consultant at the Danish Agency for Culture, and promotion manager at Edition Wilhelm Hansen.

Peter Larsen

Senior advisor, Nordic Culture Fund (DK)

Peter is a senior advisor at the Nordic Culture Fund. He has been with the fund since 2008 and holds broad experience within all aspects of the grant making process.
He is currently assisting his colleague Eline Sigfusson in the Nordic Culture Fund’s initiative towards the Nordic Live Music market, which is being highlighted by the fund at this year’s SPOT+.

Jesper Bay

Music business consultant, MusicMatters (Copenhagen, DK)

Jesper runs his own consulting company working with music and culture his work are primarily communication, strategy, business and event development. He is also a partner in the music company Body of Work with the singer and songwriter Asbjørn, president of the Bremen Theatre, vice chairman of the Danish National Opera and a member of the Music Committee in Aarhus.

Toumo Täthinen

Executive Director, Music Finland (FI)

Tuomo has a degree in music management and has studied music industry management at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College. He also has an MBA degree from Aalto University.
Tuomo began his career as a guitarist and local club promoter and has since taken on various managerial roles, including independent and major record labels, working with renowned international and domestic artists.

Jakob Udding

Music Administrator, The Swedish Arts Council (SE)

Jacob Udding is the music administrator at the Swedish Arts Council, where his main area of responsibility is contributions to music releases and Swedish music groups national and international tours.

Søren B. Kristensen

Project ambassador, Nordisk Kulturfond (DK)

Project ambassador at Nordisk Kulturfund and former chairman at ORA(Organisation af Rytmiske Amatørmusikere) from 2010-2013. He also took the initiative to start and carry through Nordic Band Camp, which is a band camp project that focuses on talent development for young Nordic musicians. Furthermore he is manager for the Danish Get Your Gun and a long-time employee at the venue Skråen in Aalborg.

Rasmus Stolberg

Rasmus (1981) is a member and manager of the two bands Efterklang and Liima. He is a co-founder and chairman of the board for The Lake (www.thelakeradio.com) and he is co-founder and co-curator of By The Lake Festival in Berlin.

Anders Wind
